FINALLY FINISHED THIS PICTURE!

IT'S 3 IN THE MORNING!

BUT IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

This is something I've been working on for a while. It's the celebratory picture for the launching of my web comic.

That's right people. We are now officially launched.

The name of my comic is Ears for Elves (hence the title of this picture ;)) please come and check it out. We have a couple pages up so far and will continue to post updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Feel free to poke around a bit (already added some extra content. :D) and enjoy!!

Woaw! Lineart is really good, painting too, and the background it's crazy O_O The foliage is awesome :la: I love it :) The only thing I thing it could be better is the tree, I think it could have more contrast (more black in shadows), but it's really good :D

Thanks! The bg was super fun to do but a little tricky. The only guidelines I put in were for where the mountains start. Beyond that I just went for it. Pretty fun. :D

The tree was something I was debating with myself with up until I finally pushed the post button. I could have given it more contrast but I was worried it would look too busy in the foreground and take away from the character (who is supposed to be the focal point).

Still not sure if I made the right decision. XP

I think the picture looks great, so it's a good decision :) That was just an advice for future pics :D I think the pic gets the focal point in the character, so you've succeeded :hug: I suck myself at painting backgrounds, I think it's one of the most difficult part of a drawing...

I used to dread backgrounds, too. But then one day I just said 'screw i't and went for it! XD

And now, even though they take forever, I really enjoy my nature-y backgrounds.

...It's the city-scapes I'm dreading... ^^;

Oh jeez, I don't even know.

I started with a couple concept sketches on Friday. Sketched it out on Saturday. Inked it on Sunday. And did the coloring on Monday.

Obviously didn't work straight though all of those days. That would be insane.

If I had to guess I'd put it in the ballpark of around 12 hours.

...Maybe I am a little insane? XD
